Active and Passive

Last week I was starting to get really frustrated from being alone at home all day. Studying alone with correspondence university books can drive almost anyone crazy. Let alone when they're written in German, by a professor who is already dead. I thought I'm going to get out of my mind, and then in the middle of the week decided that that's it! Enough! No more of these 4 walls around me, I don't care how long it'll take me to finish these courses, I need to find me a job! I want to earn my own money!

Since I already sent quite a few CV's online to several ppl, and got no answers, I decided that I'll do it the Israeli way- I'll just turn up on their doorstep and demand attention. I also planned on looking for a gym while looking for work possibilities.

So I got out of the house with a list of addresses and ideas where to go to, and started looking around. Luckily Rob convinced me the day before (which will always be remembered as the day I went lunatic and started to scream that I need a life) to get my own monthly ticket for the public transportation. It definitely pays off.

I went to the Jewish community and went to see the Rabbi and went to a few gyms and then on the way saw a branch of a company I used to work for in Israel. I decided to go inside and ask if they need workers. I got an appointment for an interview already on the same day in the afternoon, and another interview, this time with the director on Monday (yesterday). I think both went pretty well, and they're supposed to give me an answer about it till tomorrow. I have a good feeling, but I can still not tell whether it's going to work out. If not, at least I know that I did my best to try and grab this job.

I still haven't decided what gym I'll go to, it's all kinda expensive, but in the end you do get what pay for... They are all very nice. I haven't found a place that offers only Yoga (I have but it's either private teachers, who give lessons in their own place, or places, which are open only when there are classes, and therefore I didn't find anyone to talk to there). So I was thinking about joining one of the many Women's Gyms around town. These things are so popular here that Rob is really annoyed that he can't find a normal gym around home coz they're all for women!!! They offer classes and a gym and I think that's good for me. I might wait till I get an answer about this job, and then decide what makes more sense. It's the usual circle of whoever has a job has money to spend on these things, but no time, and whoever has no job has time for it but no money.... The irony of life.

So I'll keep you posted about my job situation,

Till then

Have a good week!

Yoga!!!

Signed up for Yoga today!!! In a really nice place, a place only for Yoga, it looks like a million dollars, and I got a fair price (they even gave me a discount coz I'm a student, even though I didn't ask for one). I just finished one class, and it was great, I understood almost everything the teacher said- which was really nice too, gave me a boost and a smile about my German...

Really happy about it!!!

My new computer

This is my first post from this computer! Mine was very sick as you already know from all my stories about it from China, and now I have a new laptop- and I'm getting used to it. I like it that's for sure.
Since we came back from Sinai, we went traveling in the north part of Israel, slept on the beach of the Kineret lake for two nights, and traveled especially in the Galilee. It was very nice, and again I promise to put pictures soon. After that we went to Jerusalem, to spend Yom Kippur there- that's the day the Jewish ppl fast for 24 hours to ask for forgiveness for their sins. We spent it with my friend Yifat, who just moved to Jerusalem to do her 5th and 6th year of med school there. This day almost nobody drives in Israel, and the streets are filled with ppl and kids riding bicycles and other wheeled things. The most religious ppl don't do that of course. Jerusalem as usual is amazing, the feeling you get when you're there is so special, it's really hard to explain. Rob & I fell in love with it again. On Sunday, right after the holiday, we went to a museum- that shows all of the city's history- it's called Migdal David (the tower of David) and it's very recommended.
Adi, my best friend from school gave birth to a pre-mature baby, on the 6th month of her pregnancy - now the baby is gonna stay in the hospital until it's strong enough to leave... I cross my fingers the baby will be strong and healthy!
Rob left to Germany 2 days ago, and I'm going back there in less than a week- it feels weird to leave again for so long... My mom is going today for a week which means I won't see her again b4 I leave... It's a very weird feeling.
I've been trying to learn German alone here, yesterday I was good- sat for more than 3 hours. Today I'll do it after mom leaves, until the evening- it's another holiday today- and I'm going to my aunts place for dinner.
I really need to start doing sports again, especially Yoga. I feel so bad about not doing anything, a real icky feeling. I hope I'll find a good Yoga teacher in Germany, coz even though I have a really good Yoga book - I have no self discipline and I need a class to actually go to. I fear the fact that I'm not going to understand the teachers again- which really makes all the difference for me. I'll try to find out where there's a teacher that teaches in the method I like, and I'll see how much it costs. But even if it's gonna be paying money that I don't have- I'm going back to doing Yoga... Until I find a good Yoga teacher- I'll try to go to the gym at least...
I'm stressed about not having a job in Germany yet, I keep using the money I don't have (my savings...) and I really don't like this feeling. I haven't worked in a year, and it feels so useless... I really need to know that I'm making money, and not just spending it.
I'll write more in the next few days, I'm going to have lunch with my mom now (who bought so much food for me for the time she's gone- it's amazing).

It's time to work out!

Yesterday I finally signed up for a GYM. It's been a while that I was looking for a gym close to my place and couldn't find one. I looked online- on several websites in English- but nothing. The problem was that on those websites they only published the gyms in the center of town- or rather in places they know there's a lot of foreigners. I don't live in such a place- so there were no listings of gyms next to my place. I decided to put the search on full gas and asked my new Chinese friend (have I told you guys about her? if not I'll dedicate a whole post for it one day...) about gyms in this area. So she looked online in Chinese websites and then she told me that there is a gym in the mall next door to my building. I felt so stupid for not looking there before- coz I've been there so many times- even on the top floor - where it's located... So after a waste of 2 months- I finally have a subscription for a gym - and it's even not that expensive (well I guess it's about the same prices as in Israel... but that's fine by me). Whats so great is that it's gonna take me about 5 minutes to get there - and its so close to my place- I have no excuses to not go... They also have lots of Yoga classes- which is exactly why I wanted to sign up for a gym. So I'm going to check out today's teacher- hoping I will understand some of what she says..
After that I'm gonna come home- shower and go take the bus to the place where Rob works. We're going to have a dinner with some of the ppl working with him. I hope all will be well- and that I'll have some fun!
